Is EDUPUNK dead? A podcast with Jim Groom, the “‘poster boy’ for edupunk’” and Jöran Muuß-Merholz

According to Wikipedia, “Edupunk is a do it yourself (DIY) attitude to teaching and learning practices [...] described [...] as ‘an approach to teaching that avoids mainstream tools [...], and instead aims to bring the rebellious attitude and DIY ethos of ’70s bands like The Clash to the classroom.’ [...]”

The term was coined in 2008 by Jim Groom who will deliver the keynote address at the U:FF Stage in Hamburg, hosted by OERcamp and University of Hamburg. Following his talk Jim Groom will sit down with OERcamp host Jöran Muuß-Merholz for a more personal conversation: How has the idea of avoiding mainstream alongside with the desire to change education played out, 18 years after the idea of Edupunk? How does it feel like for Jim and Jöran, both of whom now run their own companies in education – can this be punk?
