The University:Future Festival 2027 will take place from 8 to 10 June!
The University:Future Festival (U:FF) is the largest event dedicated to the (digital) future of higher education. As a leading forum for innovation in teaching and learning, it provides orientation, networking opportunities and inspiration while remaining firmly rooted in its community-driven approach and open to everyone with an interest in shaping higher education.
The festival programme spans a wide range of topics, from artificial intelligence, digital infrastructures and technological developments to strategy and organisational development, as well as future skills, pedagogy and innovative teaching and learning formats. Under the motto “Strong Enough”, the University:Future Festival 2027 explores how higher education institutions can actively and effectively fulfil their societal role in times of profound change.
In 2027, the festival will take place in Berlin, Braunschweig, Nuremberg and Graz, as well as online. The U:FF is aimed at everyone interested in shaping the present and future of higher education, including university staff and students, stakeholders from research and policymaking, as well as representatives from industry, civil society and the cultural sector.
The University:Future Festival programme thrives on the ideas and contributions of its community. Until 11 January 2027, individuals are invited to submit proposals for inputs, lightning talks, discussions, workshops and networking formats through the Call for Participation. Further information about the call can be found here. Running in parallel is the Call for Arts & Experience, which invites artistic contributions and interventions.
The University:Future Festival is a cooperation between Hochschulforum Digitalisierung, Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre and Stifterverband.
Highlights
Stronger presence
The festival includes a physical location in Berlin as well as additional partner stages in the DACH region. This allows us to accommodate up to 1,500 people at once, who can exchange ideas and network.
Community in the center
The community is involved in planning at all times to determine the focus of the content. In addition, various calls provide opportunities to actively contribute to the programme.
Broad and flexible programme
The programme is a colourful bouquet of topics and different formats: from workshops and micro-training courses to classic talks, there is something for everyone.

From 22 to 24 June, the University:Future Festival (U:FF) 2026 took place – the flagship event on the future of academic education.
Under Pressure describes the reality facing universities today: financial pressure, technological transformation, social division and demographic change are just some of the challenges they face. Rather than ignoring these problems, we placed them at the centre of the discussion to find solutions together.
