Paul Varney studied Computer Science and Communication Sciences and later educational sciences at RWTH Aachen and earned a Master of Education degree as an educational scientist, with a thesis on Game-Based Learning. Currently, Varney works in the field of Game-Based Learning & Learning in Mixed Reality at TH Cologne. As part of his current pursuits, Varney is undertaking a Ph.D., focusing on "Learning with Haptic Feedback in Mixed Reality Environments." This research delves into the impact of tactile feedback on learning within mixed reality scenarios as opposed to classical learning settings and/or other technologies.
