Tekniverse: Teaching Collaborative Futures with Hands-on IoT

This session introduces, Teknikio’s Tekniverse ecosystem, a comprehensive STEM education platform for remote education. We focus on the classroom-specific dynamic, taking into consideration student-to-student (peer) and educator-to-student relationships. Tekniverse aligns with the model of Online Collaborative Learning, where online platforms are designed to stimulate idea generation, organization, and intellectual convergence. Tekniverse emerged from a clear need to integrate tangible IoT learning opportunities into middle and high school curricula, and to finally prepare students for higher education and/or the workforce. We present Tekniverse as a learning tool for computational thinking, data analysis, and social responsibility. We aim to raise the bar on overlooked topics such as privacy and data responsibility in education and help today’s students create an innovative and inclusive future for all.
