Dr. Derek Jan Fikkers is a higher education expert with extensive leadership experience across academia and consultancy. He previously served as Director of Strategy & Academic Affairs at the University of Twente, where he helped shape institutional strategy and policy. He also coordinated the development of the joint strategy of the Dutch universities (Sterken Working Group). Before joining the University of Twente, Derek Jan was a partner in Technopolis Group, advising governments and knowledge institutions on higher education, research and innovation strategy. While a PhD-student, Derek Jan was the Chair of the PNN (Dutch National PhD-Students Association).
