Åse Tieva – University Lecturer and Researcher in Innovative Learning Environments Åse Tieva is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Educational Development (UPL) at Umeå University, Sweden. She earned her Ph.D. in Medicine with a specialization in Urology in 2002 and later transitioned to focus on education and innovative learning environments in higher education. Her research examines the intersection of design, teaching, and learning, with an emphasis on creating flexible, supportive environments that enhance student learning. At UPL, Dr. Tieva combines her expertise in pedagogy with a commitment to designing inclusive and inspiring learning spaces.
