Florian Hollerweger, an artist and scholar of sound, has been a professor at the Hochschule für Musik & Tanz Köln since 2023, where he dedicates himself to establishing a new Center for Artistic Research & Digital Innovation. Before returning to Europe, Florian was first Assistant, then Associate Professor of Audio Arts & Acoustics at Columbia College Chicago (2018-2023) and a Lecturer in Music Technology at MIT (2013-2017) and Victoria University Wellington in New Zealand (2011-2012). He holds a PhD from Queen's University Belfast (Sonic Arts Research Centre) and a Dipl.-Ing. from the Graz University of Technology (Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics). His research and artistic practice concerns itself with code as medium for the creation of music and sound.
