What is the University:Future Festival?

The University:Future Festival (U:FF) is a hybrid “Digital First” festival that will take place digitally and with physical stages in Berlin, Brunswick, Graz, Nuremberg and Zurich from June 05 – 07, 2024. The festival is bilingual in German and English. English program items are planned live in Berlin and online. The festival motto this year is “/imagine”.

In terms of content, the U:FF deals with topics around the future of higher education: technology, didactics, strategy development, competencies, architectures and many more. Varied formats such as talks, panel discussions, workshops and trainings offer opportunities for exchange and collaboration. The programme is largely based on submissions from the community. It will be rounded off by outstanding VIP speakers.

When will the University:Future Festival take place?

The University:Future Festival will take place from June 05 – 07, 2024. The exact overview of the programme times of the respective stages can be found in our programme, which will be available online starting April.

When are the physical stages open?

The Mainstage in Berlin invites you on the first two days of the festival, May 13 and 14.

On May 13, you can also visit the partner stages in Brunswick and Graz.

On May 14, the stages in Nuremberg and Zurich will open their doors.

Please note that an attendance ticket is required for participation on site. The ticket is free of charge.

Please note: The third day of the festival, May 15, will be purely digital.

Where will the University:Future Festival take place?

The hybrid festival will take place online on our digital event platform. This year, there will also be stages in Berlin, Brunswick, Graz, Nuremberg and Zurich.

I am not a student or university member. Can I still participate in the festival?

Yes. The University:Future Festival is open to anyone interested in the festival topics.

I would like to watch a session again. Is that possible?

Yes, all contributions (with the exception of workshops and training sessions) will be recorded and uploaded afterwards. The contributions to the festival will be uploaded to the YouTube channel of the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung.

I would like to participate, where can I get tickets?

How much does a ticket cost?

Participation in the University:Future Festival is free of charge.

I am not sure whether I should register for an online or presence ticket. What is the difference?

Are you mainly interested in the content? Then get an online ticket. The event is digital first, so the full program can only be experienced online.

Are you mainly interested in networking? Then get a ticket for our stages in Berlin, Bochum, Heilbronn, Leipzig or Nürnberg. You also get access to the digital event platform with a presence ticket.

Until when can I get a ticket?

The registration form will not be closed. You can still get a ticket during the event days. A ticket for online participation is available at any time, the availability of the presence tickets depends on the capacities of the respective physical stages.

I got a ticket but did not receive a confirmation email, what should I do?

For the time being, please check your spam folder and wait to see if the confirmation email arrives with a time delay. If it does not, please contact us at: festival@hochschulforum.org

Do I have to print out the attendance ticket?

No. A digital proof is sufficient.

Is the attendance ticket transferable?

If you want to cancel or make changes to your attendance ticket, please contact us at: festival@hochschulforum.org

Do I need two tickets if I want to attend physically and online?

No. Attendees in attendance will also receive access to the digital event platform. This will be sent by e-mail shortly before the event.

I have registered for online participation but would like to come to the physical stage. Is that possible?

To participate in the physical stage, you must obtain a separate ticket. Unfortunately, an online ticket does not entitle you to participate on site. Please contact us if you have purchased a presence ticket in addition to your digital ticket so that you are not registered twice for the festival. With your presence ticket you can also participate online.

I would like to attend an event at a physical stage, but I can't get a ticket for it. What is the reason for this?

If you are unable to purchase a presence ticket via the University:Future Festival ticket form, then unfortunately our contingent for on-site participation has already been exhausted. However, you can put your name on a waiting list via the system.

I can only participate in individual event points, is there a special ticket for this?

No. You can attend single events with your ticket.

I can't attend after all, can I cancel my ticket?

Yes. Especially in case of a presence ticket, we ask you to cancel your ticket, as the on-site participation is limited. To do so, please contact us at: festival_team@hochschulforum.org

When and how do I get access to the event platform?

One day before the event starts, you will receive an email with your access data to the festival platform.

I need special support to participate in the festival. How can I get support?

We will be happy to find a solution. Please contact us for this: festival@hochschulforum.org

I do not speak German. Will there be a translation of the talks?

You can access English subtitles to the German talks on the Mainstage. Unfortunately, the other contributions are not translated, but there are some sessions in English every year.
