Andrea Scott is a thought leader in higher education on both sides of the Atlantic. She has studied at Mills College, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Princeton University, Columbia University, and the University of Chicago, where she earned her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature. She taught at Princeton University for five years, serving as Associate Director of the Writing Program until 2013. Since 2013, she has taught at Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges in Los Angeles County, California. She currently serves as a research associate of the Center for Teaching and Learning at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt Oder and as an Associate Professor and Director of College Writing at Pitzer College. Her research focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning in German-speaking countries and the U.S., with a focus on inclusive pedagogies. In 2020-21, she served as a Fellow in the Claremont Colleges Faculty Leadership Program.
