Reimagining Education: Scenarios for a Digital Future

What will education look like in 2040? This session explores four alternative futures for digital education, outlined in the report The Future Learner: (Digital) Education Reimagined for 2040. These scenarios range from economic growth and technological transformation to regulatory constraints and societal collapse, offering insights into challenges and opportunities ahead.

Participants will explore trends like personalisation, equity, sustainability, and emerging technologies such as AI and XR. Policymakers, educators, and innovators are invited to discuss how today's decisions can shape education systems that balance technology with humanity.

The report, developed under the European Digital Education Hub, will be published in February 2025. This session builds on last year’s UFF discussion, Navigating Tomorrow: The Importance of Futuring in Shaping Higher Education Together.
