10 lessons from innovative universities

Innovative universities often think about what others might never consider. Moreover, they don’t just stop at ideas—they go out and try them. And they do in the world that punishes divergence with doubt, a lower position in rankings, and regulatory challenges. Sometimes they do it exquisitely well—after all, they would not survive, let along thrive, otherwise.

Isak and Dara have been exploring innovative universities through visits, personal conversations, and the Innovative Universities Webinar. In this session, they will share 10 key lessons, drawn from some of the most surprising and effective strategies they’ve encountered.

The lessons will touch upon alternative sources of funding, pedagogies that justify universities' existence in the age of AI, affordability, and excellence, among other matters. The session will close with a question to take away with you to give your institutional strategy an innovative twist.
