The artist began the creation of the collection inspired by cyberculture and its influence on the construction of concepts for the future of humanity. Reflecting on the coming era, Lucien discourses of spirituality and materialistic tendencies of modern science, fantasizes about the synergy of the emotional and the synthesized, about the junction of the natural and the innovative, how once imagined scenarios can be made true and evaluated empirically.
Conception
“futura_terra_vita.exe“ consists of a series of individual works, which, in their turn, represent a number of interrelated stories and images. Each work is an audiovisual narration of a certain plot, which is characterized by virtual, mosaic-like, pulsating landscapes, scenes and spaces. The fictional worlds referring to futuristic societies, in which fragmented flickering forms predominate, are complemented by abstract musical sketches of spatial, vibrating and spherical sounds, the physics of which has both “silicon“ and biological origin.
Artworks of the collection are designed to plunge the viewer into the prosperous pictures of the distant future, in which creativity, spirituality, faith and idealism are opposed to the burden of hegemonization, pragmatism and materialism of the current era. In them, the author indulges in dreams of the times when a person’s understanding of himself as part of a single harmonious cyber community will become the norm, and life in space, rethinking physical boundaries in conjunction with humanism and sustainable development will turn out to be relevant trends for research.
Overview
With “Guardian Of the Mirage“ Lucien reflects on the development of network technologies. The artwork shows a metaphysical mirage materializing into reality under the supervision of a guardian. The silent caretaker is connected to a network that communicates the surrounding high-tech facilities and the natural environment.
“Ocean Portal“ offers the viewer a fantasy about a new means of transportation in space. The engineering task of ensuring the functioning of the ocean portal was solved by splitting water molecules and subsequent synthesis of hydrogen fuel. Unhindered movement is carried out by coordinates and opens up opportunities to visit any point on the map.
The artwork “Flying In a Cyber Helmet“ visually materialized the author’s fantasy on the topic of traveling to distant galaxies. The hybrid cyber helmet completely replaces the spacesuit and is used for traveling in space. A person has enough thought power for a high-tech device to read the impulse of his intention and carry out the flight.
“Empathic Transactions“ invites the viewer is invited to fantasize about the mental connection of people. Hybrid network serves as an energy channel, transmits thoughts, feelings, moods, synchronizes each link of the chain, and organizes the attunement of the human ecosystem, in which integrity, sincerity, and empathy are vital parameters.
The artwork “Nanofactory“ visually embodied the author’s fantasy on the topic of biomedical nanofabrics. Particles originating in cells have the peculiarity of regulating their own functions and reproducing themselves in the organisms of cybermen.
