The seventh edition of the University:Future Festival will also be based on the tried-and-tested hybrid format, combining the digital space with various in-person venues across the DACH region.

The University:Future Festival (U:FF) is the largest event dedicated to the (digital) future of academic education. As a leading event on digitization in higher education and teaching, it offers guidance, networking, and inspiration. And it is community-oriented and open to everyone! The festival covers a wide range of topics related to AI, architectures, technology, strategy development, skills, didactics, and much more. It is aimed at everyone involved in the present and future of academic education: university staff and students; researchers and politicians; civil society and artists. In 2026 the festival featured over 290 sessions across six physical venues and online.

To ensure that the U:FF 2027 program also reflects the diversity of the community, we are already looking for dedicated jury volunteers. The festival typically receives between 550 and 600 submissions, from which the program is selected through a two-stage jury process. Members of the community play a key role in this process, contributing their diverse perspectives, experiences and specialist expertise to the selection process. If you are interested in playing an active role in shaping the programe for the upcoming festival, we look forward to receiving your application to become a jury volunteer. Further information on jury work, as well as the application form, can be found here.

On the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung YouTube channel, you can find recordings of all the festival’s talks and discussions of 2026 – ideal for catching up on missed sessions or taking inspiration into your own work. AI-assisted documentation is also available for many sessions. Concise summaries, word clouds, and FAQs provide a quick overview and make it easy to revisit individual contributions.

The University:Future Festival is a cooperation between Hochschulforum Digitalisierung, Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre and Stifterverband.
